Europe Cup and Junior World Championships in St. Moritz

Over the past four days, the Europe Cup and Junior World Championships have taken place in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

Thursday, January 18, the Women's Monobob and the 2-man Bobsleigh races were scheduled. These races were part of the Europe Cup. In the Women's Monobob discipline, Robin Post and Loren Djolo competed on behalf of Team NewCold. Robin Post took 13th place and Loren Djolo took 17th place. The two-man sled consisted of pilot Dave Wesselink and brakeman Jelen Franjić. Out of 30 participating two-man sleds, they finished in 19th place.

The second day of the Europe Cup, January 19, consisted of the 2-woman and 4-man Bobsleigh races. Pilot Robin Post, along with brakewoman Eline Boonstra, finished 9th in the 2-woman competition. For brakewoman Janna Doumpas it was her official debut on the ice. Together with pilot Loren Djolo she took 12th place in the Europe Cup. The 4-man sled consisting of Dave Wesselink, Jelen Franjić, Joris Pals and Stephan Huis in 't Veld put in a great performance. After the first run they gained the 7th place. The second run was even better and because of this the men eventually achieved 5th place. This meant that the men of Team NewCold were present at the award ceremony of the Europe Cup in St. Moritz.

Over the weekend, January 20 and 21, the Junior World Championships took place. Below are the results of this competition.

Women's Monobob

- Robin Post: 10th

- Loren Djolo: 11th

2-man Bobsleigh

- Dave Wesselink & Jelen Franjic: 13th

2-woman Bobsleigh

- Loren Djolo & Janna Doumpas: 8th

- Robin Post & Marjolein Bolten: 9th

4-man Bobsleigh

- Dave Wesselink, Jelen Franjić, Stephan Huis in 't Veld & Joris Pals: 9th
